SHIPPING POLICY
DELIVERY TIMING
Most orders are delivered within 1-6 weeks.
Why the large range in delivery times?
Your delivery location matters greatly. Delivery times are determined by your location, the item's stocked location, and the carrier's routing to your area. Based on these factors, there are cases where delivery may be significantly faster than 6 weeks (some locations in less than a week). Please reach out to us directly for the best estimates. Call us at 877-618-8780, connect with us via email, or via chat. Include your location and the items you are purchasing for the most accurate response.
When should I expect to hear about my shipment?
You will receive final tracking information (either from The Modern Backyard or directly from the "final mile" carrier) typically within 2 weeks, and a call or email to schedule within 1 week of your delivery date.
WHERE WE SHIP
We ship anywhere within the contiguous United States. At this time, we don’t ship internationally, nor to Puerto Rico, Alaska or Hawaii. If you wish to have an order shipped outside our boundaries, we’re happy to send any order to a freight forwarder, upon your request, that is located in the contiguous US.
OUR SHIPPING PROCESS
As soon as you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail. This means that we have received your order in our system and pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase. As soon as we receive your order, we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment. If your item is on backorder or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail. If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment (within 5 business days), we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.
If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order. You will receive tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out. If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at sales@themodernbackyard.com.
Our standard shipping partners are UPS (United Parcel Service), FedEx (Federal Express), and Freight Club.
SHIPPING RATES
Standard shipping is always completely free! This involves the item being brought "curbside" to the edge of your property, or up to your front door/garage door, depending on the carrier's discretion.
We can also offer "White Glove Delivery", where your items will be brought into your backyard/patio/screened porch etc, with any minor assembly, and all boxes and packaging removed from your house! NOTE: Larger items that require foundations, utility connections, and/or major fasteners cannot be included in this service. You will need to have a local installer or contractor on-site to complete the installation. These items include, but are not limited to: In-ground trampolines, anchored basketball hoops, any and all outdoor cooking equipment, Hot Tubs, Cold Plunges, Swim Spas, Saunas, Greenhouses & Sheds.
DELIVERY BASICS
All orders require a telephone number for delivery scheduling.
Delivery companies are not able to make modifications to a customer's home such as mounting an item to a wall or removing doors if they are too narrow for items to pass through.
Existing items on your property cannot be moved or disassembled by the delivery team. Your space(s) must be ready to receive the delivery when the carrier arrives.
You or someone authorized to receive the order on your behalf should be home at the pre-arranged delivery window.
A signature is required upon completion of delivery to confirm you received your order correctly and in good condition, or, with damage documented.
SHIPPING ADDRESS CHANGES
If you need to change your address after placing an order please get in touch with us ASAP so that we can edit the info in our system before it ships. Keep in mind that once your shipment is on the way, it becomes more difficult to reroute it. Of course, we’ll do whatever we can to assist, but you will be responsible for any rerouting charges.
RECEIVING YOUR ORDER
Please inspect your package immediately to ensure it has not been damaged during delivery. We make a valiant effort to prevent this with our carrier relationships, but unfortunately we cannot control what happens between our suppliers' doors and yours. In the event that your product has sustained damages of any kind in transit, note the damage with the driver on the paperwork, take a few photos of the problem area(s), and reach out to us within 24 hours of delivery at sales@themodernbackyard.com.
MISSING PARTS
In the event you find an item is missing something, first double-check the boxes, as hardware and parts sometimes blend into the packaging materials and get left behind. Then, check inside any drawers as some parts are packed internally. If they still don't turn up, reach out to us as soon as you can so that we can get you what you need as soon as possible.
